Peter Robson

Peter Robson has been painting for over 40 years. Since his retirement in 2003 he decided to exhibit his work and he has been travelling and painting extensively in Europe, South & North America, Asia and Australia. His paintings are in collections all over the world. His passion is watercolour and he likes to capture the fleeting moment using light and bold expression but above all, to make an impact. He has exhibited for several years in London at the Mall Galleries with the Royal Institute of Watercolourists (RI) and the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA). His work is shown continuously at Francis Iles in Rochester and at Turtle Fine Art in Rye. His paintings have been shown at The Royal Academy, the 'Affordable Art Fair' in Battersea and Bristol and Henley Royal Regatta. Medici Cards have printing rights to some of his paintings for cards. Prizes include 'best watercolour' at the Pilgrims Way Artists Summer Exhibition and also at the Maidstone Art Society. Most of the work is painted 'en plein air' and it has its moments. Painting in Colonia in Uruguay, a gentleman in a suit came up and asked Peter if the painting in progress was for sale. He then proceeded to introduce himself as the Minister of Culture for Uruguay and said that he wanted to buy the painting. Then the media people came and Peter was on TV painting that night. He was invited to the Town Hall the following day and has heard that the painting hangs there today. If you go and he mentions it, he forgot to pay!
